RICHARD HARDEE
Greenville – Richard H. Hardee, 65, died at his home near Venter's Cross Roads Tuesday evening after several years of illness.
Graveside services will be conducted in the Dennis Smith cemetery near Chicod school Thursday afternoon at 3 o'clock by the Rev. W. W. Nobles, Free Will Baptist minister of Winterville.
Surviving are his wife; seven sons, Lester Orman and Richard E. Hardee, both of Grimesland, Leonard E. and Paul Vernon Hardee, both of Ayden; Pfc. Henry Hardee now on leave at home, and Harold and Hubert Grey Hardee, both of the home; five daughters, Mrs. W. L. Stocks, Mrs. Thad Harris, Jr., and Doris Lee, Mary May and Myrtle Ruth Hardee, all of the home; two sisters Mrs. Jesse Shackelford and Mrs. C. H. Jones, both of New Bern and two brothers, Joe Stokes Hardee of Raleigh and Zack Gardner Hardee of near Dudley's Cross Roads.
Mr. Hardee spent his entire life In the Venter's Cross Roads community. He was a member of Timothy Christian Church.
