Carl Thomas WESTWOOD, 59, Rt. 1, (Lake Manitou), Rochester, died at 9:15 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Hospital, South Bend. He had been ill nine months.
He was born Oct. 15, 1925 in Fulton County to Thomas and Harriett KING WESTWOOD, and had lived all his life in Fulton County. He was married Aug. 15, 1948 in Akron to Frances Ellen BARTH, who survives. He had been employed the past 33 years with Sealed Power Corp. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served in the European Theater.
Surviving with the wife are the mother, Harriett WESTWOOD, 317 Fulton Ave.; a daughter, Evelyn Carol WESTWOOD, Kokomo; a son, Edward Carl [WESTWOOD], Rt. 4, Rochester; four grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Art (Ruth) SCHAUER, Rt. 5, Rochester; a son, James Allen [WESTWOOD], died in 1953, and a sister, Evelyn ENGLE, died in 1948.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Foster & Good Funeral Home in Rochester with the Rev. Donald BOWMAN officiating. Burial will be in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Rochester, where the American Legion and VFW will conduct military rites. Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Cancer Society.
