Funeral services for Mrs. Maybelle Compton, 68, Elkmont Rt. 3, were held Monday afternoon at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Roselawn Cemetery. She died Friday night at the Athens-Limestone Hospital.
Surviving are her husband, J.C. (Dick) Compton; six daughters, Mrs. Mildred Jones, Ardmore, Mrs. Horace Johns, Flint, Mich., Mrs. Ben Cowsert, Pontiac, Mich., Mrs. Ralph Smith, Athens, Mrs. Ronald McNutt, Nashville, and Mrs. Odie Dugger, Ardmore; five sons, Clay Compton, San Angelo, TX., James Compton, Birmingham, Harold Compton, Flint, Mich., Delmer Compton and Gerald Wayne Compton, both of Tuscaloosa; 16 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
