ADAMS, Korrene "Kay" 80, of Troy, passed away Sunday, September 18, 2005 in the Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton. She was born April 25, 1925 in Volga, SD. to the late Carl and Henrikka (Melheim) Anderson. Kay graduated in 1942 from Sinai High School in Sinai, SD and then pursued her nursing degree and graduated in 1946 from Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. Kay married Melvin Adams June 2, 1946 and he preceded her in death. She made her home in the Miami County area and had been employed by Piqua Memorial Hospital and then retired after over 33 years of nursing from Stouder Memorial Hospital in Troy. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Troy, Senior Citizens Club in Troy, Friendship Club of Miami County, the Stouder Hospital Silver Anniversary Club and she was a volunteer at Stouder Memorial Hospital for many years. Kay will be missed and remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Trudy Adams and Dr. Rosalindo Cortez of Troy; sons and daughters-in-law, Steve and Deborah Adams of Lewisburg; James and Daphne Adams of Troy; Charles and Debora Adams of Ludlow Falls; grandchildren, Amanda K. Adams of Chicago, IL.; Bryan J. and Amy Adams of Arcanum; Nicole L. and Brian Ketring of Dayton; Thomas W. Adams of Troy; Matthew C. and Ellie Adams of Piqua; BJ Adams of Ludlow Falls; Charles M. Adams Jr. of Ludlow Falls; Edmund V. Cortez of Dayton; Yolanda V. Cortez of Fairborn; Alexander V. Cortez of Dayton, great-grandchildren, Ashley Adams, Tyler Adams, Niko V. Cortez, her sister Irene Bolte of Volga, SD. and her feline companions, Maggie and Millie. She was preceded in death by her infant sister and her brother Alvin Anderson. Calling Hours will be Wednesday, September 21 from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. in the Jackson Funeral Home, 1 South Main St., Pleasant Hill. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thurs., September 22 in the St. John's United Church of Christ, 130 Walnut St., Troy, Ohio with Pastor Anthony Carpenter officiating.
