Roy had 2 brothers (George & Charles) and 4 sisters (Alta Della, Pearley, Ona and Mabel Mae) and several nieces & nephews. His funeral was held on August 20 @ 2:30PM (according to his obit, which was published in The Sentinel, Cottage Grove, OR) at Mills Mortuary. The Rev Gray officiated.
Roy married Bessie Christena Simon on July 24, 1906 in Nelson, NE. Roy & Christena had 2 daughters: Zola and Elma. Zola died in 1919 at the age of 10 years from Diptheria & Measles. She is buried in Kansas City, MO. Elma lived to adulthood and married Cecil Umpleby. Both Elma & Cecil are buried here at Taylor-Lane.
After their marriage, Roy & Bessie lived in NE, KS, MO & CA before moving to OR in 1941. I believe they had lived in Downey, CA aprox 10 years before moving to Cottage Grove. Roy passed away at the age of 67 years @ the Cottage Grove Hospital. Cause of death: unknown.
Wife Bessie was the niece to my great grandfather, Jacob Simon.
