"In the death of James Gill, which occurred last Tuesday morning, after an illness of only a few hours, Biloxi lost another of her oldest and most respected citizens. Mr. Gill was a native of Ireland, but had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 46 years, and was universally esteemed and respected. At the time of his death he was aged 70 years. He leaves a son and daughter, other relatives and a host of friends who mourn his death."
