- July 24, 2006 Ralph Paul Ward of Logansport died July 24 at Indiana University Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 83 and had previously resided in Kirklin, Martinsville, and Stilesville. Born March 4, 1923, in Kirklin, he was a son of the late William Alfred and Stella Fryman (should be Fryman) Ward. Mr. Ward was a U.S. Army veteran, having served during World War II. He worked 31 years as a maintenance supervisor at Associated Service Corp. in Indianapolis until retiring in 1982. Survivors include children Kevin Ward of Logansport, Tammie Higgins of Stilesville, and William Ward of Spencer; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; brothers Carl, Oscar, Jim, Raymond, and Bill Ward; and sisters Kay Seipp, Carolyn Broadstreet, Opal Chambers, Marian Lawson, and Barbara Wiltermood. Preceding him in death were a daughter, Lisa Ann Ward; brothers Gerald, Herald, John, and Edgar Ward; and sisters Helen Ward, Marie Ward, and Louise Parks. Services are 10 a.m. July 28 at Jones Family Mortuary in Mooresville with Steve Ranson officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Greenwood.
