Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday at Tennant Funeral Home with a Rosary service at 6 p.m.. The funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Adalberto DeGante officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Kier was born June 12, 1920, to John and Anna (Deganhart) Schell in Sterling. She grew up in Sterling and attended local schools,
She married Albert Kler on Jan. 5, 1940 in Chappell, Neb. She helped her husband farm and ranch in the Crook area until 1965 when they moved to Sterling. She then worked at the Logan County Hospital and also at Hested Department Store.In 1990, the couple moved to the Denver area.
She was a member of the St. Anthony's Catholic Church in
Sterling and the St. Peter's Catholic Church in Crook.
She is survived by her husband; Albert of Littleton; three daughters, Jackie Summers of Aurora, JoAnn Kuskie and husband Robert of Juniata, Neb., and Peggy Kier of Denver; one brother, Mark Schell of Arvada; five sisters, Mary Meyerholz of Sterling, Mabel Raisch of Denver, Barbara Kaiser of Portland, Ore. and Anne Schafer and Betty Schell, both of Arvada; eight granddaughters and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
Memorial contributions may be made to Diabetes Association or American Heart Association.
