Mary Meterholz, 82, of Sterling, died Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 in Sterling. Mrs. Meyerholz was born on July 12, 1918 to John and Anna (Degenhart) Schell in Sterling.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday Dec. 21 at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Friday Dec. 22 at Chaney-Reager with Betty Smith officiating. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
She grew up in Sterling and Padroni and attended Sterling schools.
On Nov. 26, 1937 she married Rudy Meyerholz Sr. in Sterling.
The couple moved to San Diego. They returned to Colorado in 1944 and purchased the Crook Hardware Store. The couple operated the store until 1954, when they purchased a farm south of Crook. They farmed until 1970, when they sold the farm and moved to Sterling.
Mrs. Meyerholz is survived by her husband, Rudy Meyerholz Sr. of Sterling; a son, Rudy Meyerholz Jr. of Lafayette, Calif.; two daughters, Myrna Weigel and husband Peter of Billings, Mont., and Kim Owen of Evergreen; a brother, Mark Schell of Arvada; three sisters, Betty Schell and husband Jake of Arvada, Ann Schaffer of Arvada, and Mable Raisch of Denver; three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters.
