"Funeral for Mrs. JESSIE VELMA SWANSON, 86, of Dam B Texas were at 10:30 am today at the Fairview Baptist Church near Woodville with burial at Bethel Cemetery in Appleby. Mrs. Swanson died Wednesday, May 15, in St Elizabeth's Hospital in Beaumont. She was born Jan 24, 1899, in Appleby, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Thomas Hill. She had lived in Dam B for 16 years. Survivors include her husband, J. Lewis Swanson of Dam B; a son, Joseph G Swanson of Port Neches; a daughter, Barbara Wilkie of Austin; a brother, Thomas Hill of Appleby; four sisters, Lillian Stephens of Appleby, Pat Forse of Nacogdoches, Hazel Partin of Nacogdoches, and Polly Babb of Beaumont; 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services were under the direction of Edwards Funeral Home of Woodville."
