MRS EMMA JONES LAWSON
Mrs. Emma Jones Lawson, wife of the late William Lawson, died October 8, 1928, in the residence of her son, Robert Lawson, in Hazelton WV. Death was due to a complication of diseases.
Mrs. Lawson was born in Wiagms Wales, December 10, 1847, and came to America about 58 years ago. After living in Burgettstown for a number of years, the family moved to Terra Alta WV. About six months ago Mrs. Lawson went to live with her son Robert.
She is survived by five sons and four daughters, William Lawson, who lives in England, Joseph and Robert Lawson of Hazelton WV, James Lawson of Burgettstown, John Lawson of Midway, Mrs. William Stage of Carnegie, Mrs. Isabella Hartman of Terra Alta WV, Mrs. George Traylor of Jewett OH, and Mrs. George Davis of Uniontown. Two children are dead, Mrs. Maria McKenzie, who died some years ago, and a son who died in infancy. There are fifty-six grandchildren, forty-eight great grandchildren and five great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in the United Brethren church in Terra Alta at 10:30 o'clock Wednesday of last week, conducted by the Rev. M. O. Cross, who was assisted by the Rev. D. W. Cunningham of Terra Alta. Burial was in the Terra Alta Cemetery.
