GREENVILLE - Mrs. Alma Noffsinger Jernigan, 91, of Greenville died Sunday, December 24, 2000 at 4:50 p.m. in the Muhlenberg Community Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Jernigan was born in Muhlenberg County on August 14, 1909. She was a member of Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church. Mrs. Jernigan retired from Deaconess Hospital in Evansville in 1972 and Cooksey Corporation in 1980. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy T. Jernigan in 1960.
Survivors include one son, Gaither Jernigan of Poseyville, Indiana; 4 daugters, Lana Cooksey of Lake Forest, California, Pat Hess of Bakersville, California, Myrna Smith of New Hall, California and Valada Dugan of Evansville, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and one sister, Mareen Mercer of Greenville.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, December 28, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Duvall's Chapel General Baptist Church with Rev. Ken Miller officiating. Burial will be in the Old Bethel cemetery. Gary's Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
