Buried at the Masonic Cemetery on Carter & South Henry Street in Farmington, Rachel is the daughter of David R. & Susannah (nee Zolman) Powell buried at the Glenda Cemetery east of town. Rachel married Joseph Perkins on Feb. 26, 1857 to which they had at least 8 children. See Joseph's listing for his obituary link documenting their children.

From a posting on Ancestry.com: "Rachel Powell married Joseph Perkins who was a Baptist minister. Their children were educated mostly as doctors and nurses. Rachel's son, Dr. Carter Perkins, practiced in Denver, Colorado for many years. Her son Basil was the first commissioned mayor of Denver. Nettie was a nurse in Denver and kept contact with her cousin George Powell. Isaac Basil Powell lived at least for a time in St. Louis. Marion died at the home of Henry Smith in Pollock, Missouri."
