Fred Carder

MIAMI, Okla. — Fred L. Carder, 73, 827 P St. N.W., died at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. John’s Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Mo., after an illness.

Mr. Carder was born Sept. 5, 1922, at Hartville, Mo. He had lived in the Welch and Miami areas most of his life. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was a member of the American Legion Post, Miami. He worked 30 years for B.F. Goodrich, Miami, retiring in 1900. He also had owned and operated Carder’s Repair Shop, Commerce, for 20 years. He was a deacon and a member of the Southeast Baptist Church, Commerce.

He married Viola Rusco on June 19, 1943, at Vinita. She survives.

Also surviving are a daughter, Mitzi Harris, Granby, Mo.; three brothers, Earnest Carder, Commerce, Don Carder, Welch, and Lloyd Carder, Vinita: two sisters. Velma Perry, rural Miami, and Mabel Allman, rural Commerce; and three granddaughters.

Arrangements are pending with Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.

MIAMI, Okla. — Services for Fred L. Carder, 73, 827 P St. N.W., Miami, who died Thursday, will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Southeast Baptist Church, Commerce.

The Rev. Jerry Von Moss and the Rev. Lloyd Carder will officiate. Burial will be in Williams Timberhills Cemetery, west of Miami.

Pallbearers will be deacons of the church. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Northeast Oklahoma Veterans Funeral Detail.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 p.m. today at Paul Thomas Funeral Home, Miami.
