He was a native of Ware County and resided in Berrien County and Ware County most of his life. He was retired from the Rubin Brothers shoe factory and was a member of Indian Mound Baptist Church. His parents were the late Dan Spikes and Nancy Rowe Spikes.
The survivors include his wife Annie B. Spikes, Waycross; a daughter and son-in-law Linda and Lionel Bennett, Millwood; two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie Earl and Shannon Marie Spikes of Blackshear and Donnie and Jan Parm Spikes of Waycross; two sisters, Janie Bennett of Pearson and Lelia Farmer of St. Marys; a brother, Cliff Spikes of Perason; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral is today at 2 p.m. at Indian Mound Baptist Church with burial in the Hargravess Chapel Cemetery. Arrangements are with Music Funeral Home.
