Rita Florina Forman, 82, died Monday, Nov. 23, 2009, in Kingfisher Regional Hospital. She was born Dec. 24, 1926, in Okarche to Joe and Rose Nieland Wittrock.

She grew up on a farm with five brothers and one sister and attended Holy Trinity Catholic High School. She attended Oklahoma A&M, now Oklahoma State University. She lived in Murray Hall and held a job at the dental office on campus. Her education was cut short when her father, Joe, died, and she felt she was needed at home with her brothers. She met Stanley Forman in El Reno at a dance hall called "The Y." Her sister, Mildred, and Mildred's husband, Max, introduced Stanley to her. They were married May 15, 1947, in Oklahoma City. At Stanley's Kingfisher High School reunion, Stanley proudly introduced Rita Florina Wittrock Forman, the Belle of Okarche. After their marriage, she moved her membership to Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Kingfisher. She became a faithful member of Sts. Peter and Paul Altar Society. In Rita's last month, her eyesight failed, but she never lost her wonderful, positive outlook and spirit.
