Surviving Mr. Wittrock are two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Pappe, Okalahoma City, and Miss Rita Wittrock, of the home; five sons, Cletus Wittrock, Herbert Wittrock, Lewis Wittrock, Lawrence Wittrock, and Carlos Wittrock, all of Okarche; two sisters, Mrs. Anna Lechtenbert, Peterburg, Neb., and Mrs. Teresa Werner, Omaha, Neb,; and six brothers, A. H. Wittrock, Bernard Wittrock, Paul Wittrock, Frank Wittrock, and John Wittrock, all of Okarche, and Mike Wittrock, Carroll, Iowa.
Funeral services will be conducted at 9 a.m. Tuesday in the Okarche Catholic church with Rev. Frank Warnke officiating.
Burial will be made in the Okarche Catholic cemetery. Benson funeral home is in charge of arrangements.
[OBITUARY: Joseph Nichols Wittrock was born March 17, 1895 near Okarche and was reared and educated in this community. He died at the El Reno sanitarium Jan. 31, 1947 at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 14 days. He had been ill since August 1946 and was hospitalized since January 14 at the sanitarium. On Sept. 25, 1916 he was married to Rose Walburga (Nieland) Wittrock at Breda, Iowa. She preceded him in death on August 26, 1935. He is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Pappe of Oklahoma City, and Rita Wittrock of the home; five sons, Cletus, Herbert, Lawrence and Carlos of Okarche and Louis of Carroll, Iowa; two sisters Mrs. Anna Lechtenberg of Petersburg, Nebr., and Mrs. Theresa Werner of Omaha, Nebr.; six brothers, Tony, Frank, Paul, Ben and John Wittrock of Okarche and Mike of Carroll, Iowa. He also leaves four grandchildren. One sister, Mrs. Anton Smith preceded him in death several years ago. Funeral services were held Feb. 4, in Holy Trinity church with Rev. F. Wernke officiating.
