Robert Franklin Allgood, the son of Ernie and Wilma (Neal) Allgood, was born on January 14, 1936 near Peru, Nebraska. He passed away on February 7, 2006 at the Brodstone Memorial Hospital in Superior, Nebraska at the age of 70 years, and 25 days.

Robert was one of 11 children. He attended schools in Peru, living with his Aunt and Uncle from the age of fourteen until his marriage. He was a dragline operator for many lakes, and canals in Nebraska and Kansas.

He was united in marriage to Joyce Montgomery on January 20, 1957 at the United Methodist Church in Superior. This union was blessed with 4 children. He was baptized by Rev. Robert Wigert in 1959. Robert attended the Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center in Grand Island and also Air Conditioning and Refrigeration at the Technical College in Beloit, Kansas.

Robert had a 27 year career with the Superior Police Department serving 20 1/2 years as the Chief of Police and 4 years as assistant Police Chief. He also did refrigeration repair as part time. Robert and Joyce also were the managers for the Simic Skating Rink for 10 years, Robert truly enjoyed interacting with the children. Robert was a member of the NRA, he liked to shoot guns, fish and hunt.

He was preceded in death by his parents, twin son, Danny; two brothers, Wayne and Edward; and three sisters, Jean Swartz, Arlene Hurst, and Alice Hanika and mother and father-in-laws, John and Vivian Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce; daughters, Cindy Lamb and husband Greg of Lincoln, Nebraska and Lori Carroll and husband Steve of Hastings, Nebraska; and son, Dave and wife Jill of Superior, Nebraska; 11 grandchildren, Mandy and Tony Falk, Nick and Andy Clark; Harley, Daniel and Aaron Allgood; Korey and Maddie Lamb and Jarad and Jena Kinyoun; 4 great-grandchildren, Olivia, Dylan, Breanna and Clara Falk; four brothers, Harold and wife Doris of Kingland, Texas; Lee and wife Charlene of Las Vegas, Nevada; Bill and wife Cindy of Sutherland, Nebraska; Gary and wife Sharon of Pawnee City, Nebraska; one sister, Pauline Beauchamp of O?Neill, Nebraska; and sister- in-law, Annette Allgood of Toledo, Ohio; Aunt Mert Jennings, who he lived with prior to his marriage; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 11, 2006 at 2:00 PM from the Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska with Pastor Dorthea Fairbanks officiating. Music was "The Old Rugged Cross", sung by Darrel Miller with Lynn Wilton as organist and recorded music "Go Rest High On That Mountain", "Amazing Grace" and "I Walk The Line"".

Pallbearers were Perry Freeman, Jim Marr, Gary Keeling, Tom Johnson, John Disney, Jim Rust, Darrel Miller, and Brad Baker. Honorary pallbearers were his grandchildren, Nick Clark, Andy Clark, Mandy Falk, Tony Falk, Harley Allgood, Daniel Allgood, Aaron Allgood, Korey Lamb, Maddie Lamb, Jarad Kinyoun and Jena Kinyoun. Interment was in the Evergreen Cemetery at Superior, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family.
