James was the first born to John William (Will) Edwards and Mary Ann (Annie) Quintrell. He married Ella Long on April 7, 1906. They had six boys before his death due to inhaling large amounts of copper dust from his work place at the Copperhill Mine in Tenn. His boys are Fread, Roy, James Roscoe, John C, Glen and Quinten E. His wife is Ella E Long born in GA on 6-9-1890 and died 7-31-1986. After the death of her husband James Edwards, Ella married Joesph Williams.
