Eliphalet and his family, along with his parents and siblings, settled in Sussex Co., NJ before 1763. Reportedly, about 1777/1778, he and his wife set out to relocate to Canada. They were never heard from again. They are thought to have died or been killed while en route, perhaps in the State of New York. Their son John is supposed to have searched for them there for several years.
