Mrs. Amanda Meadows Joyner Williamson, age 91, of Normantown died Tuesday, May 8 at Meadows Memorial Hospital, after a long illness.

A native of Washington County, Mrs. Williamson resided most of her life in Normantown. She was a member of the Normantown Baptist Church.

Mrs. Williamson is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Eloise Hatcher and Mrs. Mildred Lawless, both of Americus, and Mrs. Venita Cox and Miss Connie Williamson, both of Normantown; two sons, Jessie Theron Joyner of Vidalia and Thomas W. Joyner of Normantown; 17 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren; 5 great-great grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Maude Lewis of Normantown, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mrs. Williamson were held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 9 in the Murchison Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Danny Williams and Reverend Jim Headley officiating. Interment was in the Pinecrest Cemetery.

Serving as active pallbearers were Ronnie Wiggins, Charles Anderson, Joel Joyner, Tommy Gunn, Sam Gunn, and Herschel Joyner. Honorary pallbearers were Guyton Williamson, H.L. Williamson, Cannie Rockett, Donald Lewis, Arnie Medders, and Raymond Coker.

Murchison Funeral Home of Vidalia was in charge of funeral arrangements.
