She was born September 22, 1909 in Coltman, Idaho to Wilhelm Oswald and Anna Barbara Brenner Oswald, the fifth out of six children. Elsie married Russell Turner Burningham, March 18, 1930 in Blackfoot, Idaho, they were sealed for time and all eternity January 4, 1932 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Elsie was the mother of three sons, Gary L. Burningham, Russell Lee Burningham and William B. Burningham. She enjoyed working side by side with her husband on the family farm, was an active member in the LDS Church, where she served faithfully for many years as a temple worker, and was deeply devoted to genealogical work.
Elsie is survived by two sons and their wives, Gary and Janet Burningham, William and Isabel Burningham, 14 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Russell, son Lee, one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, February 3, 2001 at 11 a.m. at the LDS 16th Ward Chapel located at 720 East 550 North, Bountiful. The viewing will be on Friday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main. There will also be a short viewing before the funeral service from 10 - 10:45 a.m. at the chapel. Interment-Bountiful City Cemetery.
