Laura Crocker Segrest, 89, who lived at 324 Melrose before retiring, passed away at 1:10 p.m. Thursday in a local Convalescent Home.

She was the widow of the late Joseph B. Segrest. She was a Charter member of the Parkdale Baptist Church.

She is survived by two sons, Charles B. Segrest, and David Allen Segrest; three grandchildren, David Segrest, Robbi Stevens, and Carrie Carey; two great-grandchildren, Jason Davis, and Melissa Carey, all of Corpus Christi; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Cage-Mills Downtown Chapel with Rev. Randy Turner, of Parkdale Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park.

Active pallbearers will be Roy Crocker, Lee Crocker, Steve Crocker, Harold Epperson, and Jerry Porter.

Honorary pallbearers will be Clyde Faulk, E. E. Harrison, Bill Snow, Ernest Pierce, Howard E. Butt, Sr., David Harris, and Jack Reichenstein. Cage-Mills Downtown Chapel. (unnamed, undated newspaper clipping)
