CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - Charles Byron Segrest, 83, passed away February 20, 2008. Charles was born on August 8, 1924 in Houston Texas to Joseph Byron and Laura Crocker Segrest. He was employed as an electrical salesman.
He was a member of Caribbean Baptist Church and Brighton Park Baptist Church and did work for Church Without Walls, Harborview, Morgan Avenue Baptist Church, Good News, Good Samaritan and many other organizations.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, D. Allen Segrest. Survivors include his wife, of 58 years, Allene Segrest of Corpus Christi, Texas; his son, David Segrest of Corpus Christi, Texas; daughters, Robbi Coffman of Lagarta, Texas and Carrie Carey (Mark Line) of San Marcos, Texas; five grandchildren, Jason Davis, Melissa Carey, Laura Coffman, Codi Coffman, and Landen Line; also five great grandchildren and numerous cousins.
Funeral services were conducted on February 23, 2008 at Brighton Park Baptist Church. Services concluded at church.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Willis, Nelson Lanam, Steve Crocker, Lee Eyler, Harold Epperson, Andy Crocker, Chris Crocker, To Webb, Buddy Thomas, Calvin Self, Larry Sparks, and Ray Laws. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Mr. Segrest's name to Brighton Park Baptist Church or a charity of your choice.
