Uncle John Ward, a citizen of this county since 1868, died at his home 2 1/2 miles Southwest of Bee Brance Sunday Feb 17,1924, aged 71 years. Interment took place at the Douglas Graveyard Tuesday Feb 19th, services being conducted by Rev. Boone. Mr Ward was born in Tennessee on May 15,1852. He came to this county with his parents in 1868. In July 1872 he was united in marriage with Miss Mary Douglas. Ten children were born of this union and all of whom with the mother survive. One sister and two brothers also survive. For 54 consecutive years he has resided on the farm where he died, enjoying the confidence and esteem of many friends and neighbors as as upright christian citizen.
