As I researched the area where James lived 50 years after his death, it seems that everyone remembered "Toot"-he was a very popular fellow!
The 1940 census for McKeesport shows 30 year old Carson living with 35 year old wife Agnes, working as a catcher in the tin mill. Agnes was born in Scotland.
Living two households away is sister Elizabeth and husband Noble Bucklew and their son Richard.

Aux. Police and Gallatin-Sunnyside Vol Fire Dept. A son of the late John Joseph and Rebecca Behanna Jamieson, was born in Sunnyside. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Sarah Roberts Jamieson; brothers, David of Elizabeth and John J. of Port Vue: and a sister Mrs. Elizabeth Seman of Elizabeth.
