Mrs. Harriet E. Tunnell was found dead in her room at Miller's Hotel, in Alton on Friday last, with a bottle of chloroform pressed to her nostrils. She had been for years addicted to the use of laudanum, and not all the vigilance or persuasion of her friends could prevent her from the pernicious indulgence.
