Clara Cupps, age 84, of Trickham, Texas passed away Saturday December 24, 2005 at 10:10 a.m. at the Songbird Lodge in Brownwood. Services will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at Cleveland Church of Christ with Jack Bryant and Jeffrey Brooke officiating. Interment will follow at the Cleveland Cemetery directed by Henderson Funeral Home of Santa Anna. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 till 7:00 p.m. at Henderson Funeral Home.

Clara was born July 18, 1921 in Coleman County, one of thirteen children to the late August Ernest and Rose Genz. She was raised in Coleman County where she attended the Santa Anna Schools. On November 24, 1937 Clara married Rachel William Cupps in Santa Anna and they celebrated sixty-three years of marriage. R. W. preceded her in death in 2000. Clara was a lifetime resident of Coleman County where she was a member of the Cleveland Church of Christ and Trickham and Cleveland Quilting Clubs. She was a homemaker and wrote the Cleveland News for Santa Anna News from 1972 to 1982.

Survivors include two daughters, Carolyn and husband Ernest Covey of Lake Brownwood, Texas; Patsy and husband Brown Brooke of Coleman, Texas; one son, Billy Don and wife Diane Cupps of Beaumont, Texas; one sister, Lucille Teeters of Bangs, Texas; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchildren.

Clara was preceded in death by four sisters and seven brothers.
