She was born on July 26, 1862 in Parowan, Utah. She was the twelvth child of 12 children to Edson and Louisa Walker Barney. She spent her early life in Parowan, Pine Valley and St. George, Utah until her marriage to Edwin Tora Thurston on July 2, 1879 at Annabella, Utah. One year later they were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on December 22, 1880. He died on June 29, 1936. She married to Thomas H. Wilson of Payson, Utah and lived in Payson, Utah for eight years. He died on June 7, 1946.
Most of her life was spent in Annabella, Utah where she was very active in church and civic affairs, was president of the Annabella LDS Relief Society for nine years and worked in the Sevier County Fair for several years.
She returned to Annabella, Utah to make her home, where she has lived until recently, when in failing health she was taken to Salt Lake City, Utah for treatment.
Survivors are two sons, two daughters: Edwin E. Thurston, Provo, Utah; Maud T. Christensen and Glen Walker Thurston, both of Annabella, Utah; Mrs. J. D. (Nellie) Hopkins of Cedar City, Utah; 26 grandchildren; 62 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday November 17, 1951 at the Annabella LDS Ward. Burial was in the Annabella Cemetery.
