● OBITUARY (Macon Telegraph, 28 Sep 1987):
"Douglas, GA — Alvin Bagley, 79, died Saturday in a local hospital after an extended illness. Services will be held at 3 pm today in First United Methodist Church in Douglas. Burial will be in Douglas City Cemetery. The Rev John McGowen will officiate. A native of Coffee County, Mr. Bagley lived most of his life in Douglas. He was a contractor and home builder and also owner and operator of Bagley Auto Parts in Douglas. He was a Methodist. Survivors include his wife, Clytie Bagley, of Douglas, a daughter, Clarita Johnston of Tifton, a son, John Bagley of Warner Robins, four sisters, Addie Wolfe of Blackshear, Mary Joyner of Guyton, Ona Mae Tanner of Alma, and Odessa Streat of Nicholls, four brothers, Arthur Bagley of Jacksonville, Fla., Allard Bagley of Alma, and Thomas Bagley and Odell Bagley, both of Nicholls, six grandchildren and seven great grand children. The body will be placed in the church at 2 pm. Sims Funeral Home in Douglas has charge of arrangements."
