Margaret Corinne Glover Cardwell, 96, of Orangeburg, died Friday, July 18 at the Methodist Oaks. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, July 21 at Dukes-Harley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kermitt Shrawder officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. prior to the service on Monday.
Mrs. Cardwell was born in Livingston, a daughter of the late Clarence L. Glover and Ida Carson Glover. She was a former employee with the U.S. Post Office in Livingston. Tapps Department Store, Columbia, and former manager of Earl's Tea Room in Columbia. She moved to Charleston during WWII and worked in the US Navy Port of Embarkation, North Charleston. She was a lifelong member of Cherokee Place United Methodist Church and a Sunday school teacher. Mrs. Cardwell was the widow of Joseph N. Cardwell.
Survivors include a stepdaughter-in-law, Anne Cardwell, Marmora, N.J.; a number of nieces, nephews, and stepgrandchildren. Memorials may be made to Cherokee Place United Methodist Church, North Charleston or to the Methodist Oaks, PO Box 9005, Orangeburg 29116.
