He retired from the American Bridge Division of US Steel, was a U.S. Air Force Veteran of WWII and was of the Baptist Faith.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Helen Marie Brister; and son, Jerry Glynn Brister.
Survivors include his wife of sixty one years, Daisy Brister; daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Grover Williams; grandson, Jason Jarrell; great-granddaughter, Layla Jarrell; brother, Don Brister and sister, Alma Wolfe.
