Hilda A. Harkness, age 87, died May 25, 1985 at the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital. She was born in Columbia, Ohio and has lived in Eaton Rapids since 1945. She was a school teacher, teaching in Mason, Lansing, and rural schools in Eaton Rapids.
She was a member of the Eaton Rapids Methodist Church. Surviving are 7 sons, Hallie of Mason, Richard of Ormond Beach, FL., Robert of Lansing, Frederick of Lakeland, FL., John of Eaton Rapids, William of State College, PA., Rex of Woodstock, CT; 2 daughters, Mrs. Hildred Whittum of Eaton Rapids and Mrs. Patricia Rogers of Osburn, Idaho; 1 brother, Claude Thompson and 1 sister, Clela Brown, both of Jonesville, Michigan; 30 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Tuesday, May 28, 11 a.m. from the First Methodist Church, Eaton Rapids with interment in Felt Plains Cemetery. The family suggests memorials to the Eaton Rapids Community Hospital. Arrangements by the Skinner Chapel, Eaton Rapids.
