Mr. Fred Ahrensfield of Pottsville, one of the Directors of the Poor of the Schuylkill County Almshouse, died at his home in Pottsville, Thursday afternoon about five o'clock. Mr. Ahrensfield was taken ill Sunday while in Tremont. His illness was not thought serious at first but upon his removal to his home his serious condition was realized. Deceased was about 62 years of age. He was well known in Schuylkill Haven and this vicinity. He was serving his second but not successive term as Poor Director, having at the last election been elected on the Republican ticket. Prior to his election he was employed as a motorman for the E. P. R. Co. He is survived by his widow.
