After long service in the Church of the Brethren at Barren Ridge, pastor there since 1880, the Rev. George A. Phillips, passed away at his home near Hermitage yesterday noon, aged 72. He had been ill for some time.
Funeral services will be held at 2 0'clock this afternoon at Barren Ridge Church.
Mr. Phillips is survived by the following children, Mrs. Maggie Houff, John Phillips. Mrs. John Flory, Mrs. Frank Y. Garber, and Victor Phillips, the first two by his first wife, who was Miss Nannie J. Wine, and the others by his second wife, who survives him, the latter before her marriage Miss Mary Brower.
