WILLIAM DOUGLAS, born in Stephentown, NY., Jan 1 1768; married first, Miriam PEASE, of Stephentown. William DOUGLAS and Miriam PEASE were the first white children born in the town. She was born July 16, 1768, and died Sept. 8, 1796. He married, second, Margaret HUNTER. She was born Dec. 17, 1776, and died Nov. 8, 1833. He was a farmer in Stephentown, where he died Dec. 13, 1821.

13 Dec 1821 Squire Wm. Douglas died, funeral on 15th at Baptist meetinghouse. Sermon preached by Moses Hunter & Elder Jones addressed the mourners and made prayers. He made a prayer before the corpse was removed from home to the meetinghouse, a large concourse attended the funeral but a very severe cold day
