Mary Walters,Smith-McCauley was a half sister to my mother, Mattie Oma Walters-Coe. Mary died of Acute cardiac failure, due to injuries she received in a car/truck accident near Denton, Texas. Her son Jack was driving the car at the time of the accident.(Jack died not long after his mother, but not from the accident.) Dr. C.C. Nash-1526 Medical Arts Building at the Methodist Hospital, (I assume in Dallas, Texas)..treated her for a fractured spine and head injuries,...she lived 28 days. ..Her death certificate states she was a Beauty Shop Operator and had been for 3 years. Her home address was in
Denton, Texas but they took her to the Parkland Hospital in Dallas to care for her after the accident, Her death certificate states she died at Parkland in Dallas and is buried in the Laural Land Cemetery, May 31, 1934. ...The Lamar and Smith Funeral Home, 800 West Jefferson officated the funeral.

Mr. Leon D. Sparkman gave the information on the death certificate and his address was Denton. Texas. (I do not know who he is, but according to the city directory he was a nieghbor of Marie's!) My mother said Mary also had a daughter, Mildred, Mrs. Tate B. Hawks.

Mary married her first husband, Ben Smith, August 18, 1909,in Waco, Mclennon, Texas and her second marriage was to Mac McCauley. The children Jack and Mildred were of the second marriage and both born in San Francisco, California. She was listed as a widow on her death certificate.
