Mr. Wright was born in Crimora, Jan. 7, 1906, a son of the late William Garnett and Martha Susan Hoy Wright. He was a retired barber having formerly owned and operated Wright's Barber Shop, 306 N. Charlotte Ave.
He served with the U. S. Navy during World War II and was a member of the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren. He was predeceased by his wife, Mrs. Savilla Florence Wright, on July 20, 1973.
Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Juanita Florence Hartless of Route 2; four sons, Aubrey William Wright of Waynesboro, Matthew Madison Wright of Falls Church, Wilmer Ralph Wright of Fayetteville, N. C., and Charles Melvin Wright of Fairfax; four brothers, Leonard L. Wright and Floyd Wright, both of Waynesboro, Christopher Wright of Norfolk and Stuart C. Wright of Beckley, W. Va.; five sisters, Mrs. Addie W. Short of Lake Worth, Fla., Mrs. Mae W. Campbell and Mrs. Vincent (Beulah) Via, both of Waynesboro, Mrs. B. T. (Emma) Via of Route 2 and Mrs. Winford (Ruth) Whitmore of Route 1; 17 grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow in the Waynesboro Church of the Brethren, conducted by the Rev. J. Wayne Judd, with entombment in the mausoleum in Augusta Memorial Park.
Active pallbearers will be R. Jack Higgs, Alfred A. Palmerino, Herbert E. Hughes, Ray Midkiff, Carl Campbell, George Wright and Leonard Kline.
Honorary pallbearers will be grandchildren.
