Ms. Ellen Cassada Johnson, 53, of 2121 Grubby Road, Halifax died December 28, 2008 at Sentara Hospital, Williamsburg. She was born in Halifax County on July 12, 1955, a daughter of Dorothy Powell Cassada and the late Charles D. Cassada. She was a member of First Baptist Church, South Boston and retired as a guidance counselor with Amherst County Public School System.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by a host of cousins.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, December 31 at Powell Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Susan Davis officiating. Burial followed in Halifax Memorial Gardens.
