Double Wedding.

Miss Emma Peters was united in marriage to Fred Poppe and Miss Rosa Peters was named (sic) to Carl Gehle in St. Johanne's Lutheran church (sic) near Byron, Thursday afternoon of last week, the pastor Rev. L. C. Lentz officiating. The brides were daughters of Mr. and Mrs. W. M. Peters pioneer residents of that vicinity. The grooms are well known young farmers of the neighborhood. A large number of friends and relatives were present at the ceremony and latter attended the reception at the home of the brides' parents. The many friends of the young people extend congratulations.

OBITUARY OF CARL GEHLE

Carl Gehle, the son of Carl and Ann nee Baden Gehle, was born Oct. 9, 1899, in Thayer County, Nebr. At the age of 13 days, on Oct 22, he was baptised in St. Peter's Lutheran Church of Byron, Nebr., by the Rev. O. Lumpe. On June 1, 1914, he was confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Pastor G. Schulz in St. John's Lutheran Church at Byron.

On April 27, 1922, he was united in marriage with Rose Peters of Byron, Nebr., in St. John's Lutheran Church in that community. The Rev. L. C. Lentz performed the ceremony. Three children were born to this union, Irvin, who in 1955 preceded his father in death; Mrs. Martin (Eldora) Wonderllng of Deshler, Nebr.; and Melvin of Superior, Nebr.

Most of his life was spent in the Byron, Nebr., area, where he continued to make his home until the time of his death.

Failing health marked his final years.

In addition to his son, Irvin, he was preceded In death by his father and one brother.

He departed this life at his home on Monday, July 13, 1964, at the ago of 64 years, 9 months, and 4 days. Death came as the result of a heart attack.

Besides his beloved wife and children, he leaves to mourn his passing, his mother, Mrs. Anna Kellner, of Deshler; one brother, Adolph, of Chester; two sisters, Mrs. Paul (Elsie) Koester of Deshler, and Mrs. Art (Adele) Frum of Hazlet New Jersey; one uncle, William Baden, of Deshler; three grandchildren, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services were held Thursday, July 16, in Centennial Lutheran Church, Superior, with the Rev. Robert J. Leege, pastor, officiating. Burial was made in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.
