Mrs. Harrill had been a resident of Oak Ridge since the 1940s, having moved here from Harrisonburg, Va. During those years she worked as a secretary at Oak Ridge National Laboratory and met her husband, Charles S. Harrill, who survives her.
During the 1950s she taught secretarial skills at night school and prior to her marriage taught business practices in Baltimore, Md.
Mrs. Harrill was a seamstress and was an avid golfer and bridge player.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Oak Ridge Country Club. She was also a member and a past president of the Oak Ridge Woman's Club and belonged to Sigma Sigma Sigma sorority.
She was born on Dec. 3, 1922, the daughter of William and Laura Huland Faison Manson.
In addition to her husband of 51 years, Mrs. Harrill is survived by her stepson, Bill Harrill of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and three stepdaughters, Barbara Elliott and her husband, Hatcher, of Swannanoa, N.C., Mary Margaret Novak and her husband, Philip, of San Jose, Calif., and Jane Marks and her husband, James, of Rochester, N.Y.
She is also survived by her brother, William Manson and his wife, Virginia, of Martinsville, Va.; her sister, Henrietta Coiner of Staunton, Va.; and by eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, a nephew and several nieces.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 9, at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Ken Henderlight officiating.
A private burial will be held at Oak Ridge Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the church following the funeral Wednesday.
The family requests any memorials be in the form of donations to First United Methodist Church, 1350 Oak Ridge Turnpike, Oak Ridge, TN 37830.
