Noel G. Bass, 30, of Rt. 1, Pinola was killed Monday morning while cutting pulpwood near his home in the Bridgeport community. Bass had been employed be South Central Bell Telephone Company for the past nine years and had worked out of the Mendenhall office for the past several years.
He was a lifelong resident of Bridgeport community and was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday, May 29, at 4 p.m. from the Peasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy McNair and Rev. E. N. Sullivan officiating. Interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery with Colonial Chapel Funeral Home of Mendenhall in charge.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Sharon R. Bass of Rt. 1 Pinola; one daughter Sherri Lynn Bass of Rt. 1 Pinola; his parents Mr. and Mrs. Archie Bass, Sr. of Rt. 1 Pinola; one brother Archie Bass, Jr. of Rt. 1 Pinola; one sister Vicki Bass of Rt. 1 Pinola.
