Robert Lee Sparkman was born Saturday, October 7, 1899 to Sidney Johnson Sparkman and Elizabeth Lavinia "Vinnie" Sybert Sparkman. ~ He married Lucille Betterton, a daughter of Hugh Andrew Jackson Betterton and Dovie Lou Looney Betterton. ~ Robert Sparkman Services Tuesday

HARTSELLE—Robert Lee Sparkman, 58, of Hartselle 2 , died in Hartselle Hospital last night at 9:30. Funeral services are to be conducted at Johnson’s Chapel Methodist Church Tuesday at 2 p.m.

The Revs. Eaton Stephenson, W. J. Alston and Brice Sons are to officiate. Nephews will serve as pallbearers.

Burial is to be in Johnson’s Chapel cemetery with Peck Funeral Home of Hartselle directing

He is survived by the widow. Mrs. Lucille Sparkman, Hartselle 2, four sisters, Mrs. W. D. Bullard, Misses Lola May, Nola Daye and Wilma Sparkman, all of Hartselle 2; brothers, Olan and Clifton, both of Hartselle 2 and Dan Sparkman, Decatur 3.

Mr. Sparkman was a member of Neel Methodist Church and Woodmen of the World.
