Daniel Turner McEntire,86, died Tuesday October 11 at the Golden Years Haven in Decatur. He was born February 21, 1880 to Mr. and Mrs. J. D. McEntire, near Nashville, Tennessee and came to Decatur, Wise County, Texas with his family at the age of 11. He lived in Wise County near Decatur until his death. He was a retired farmer.
Funeral services were Thursday, October 13, 1966 at 2. p.m. in the First Methodist Church of Alvord where he was a member at the time of his death. Bro. Aston Pollard, pastor, officiated, assisted by Bro Darrell Gleghorn, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in Decatur.
Pallbearers were William Hale and David Hale of Denison, Albert Lee Perkins, Fort Worth, Edd Locker, Arlingon, Charlie McEntire, Bridgeport and Dan McEntire of Denton. Interment was at Jonestown Cemetery. The Hawkins Funeral Home of Bridgeport was in charge.
Survivors include four sons, Ernest W. McEntire, Alvord, Robert McEntire, Fort Worth, Elmo McEntire, Fort Worth and D. T. McEntire, Jr., Fort Worth; three daughters, Mrs. Beatrice Perkins, Mrs. Estelle Lee of Fort Worth and Mrs. Myrtle Hale of Denison; thirteen grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. Six brothers also survive him. They are Robert McEntire, Comanche, Okla.; Vernon McEntire and Wofford McEntire of Amarillo; Coy McEntire, Lawrence McEntire of Fort Worth and S. W. McEntire and one sister, Mrs. Marie Collins, Fort Worth; and a large number of nephews and nieces.

GOLDEN WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT
Mr. and Mrs. D. T. McEntire of Alvord celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversary, Sunday, with an open house at their home. All seven of their children and their families attended. The McEntires were married 17 September 1899 in the Jonestown Community in Wise County.

She died on 22 February 1882 in the Rhea Community, Giles County, Tennessee. She is probably buried in the Joines Cemetery, in Giles County, without a grave marker, with several of her family members.
