Research found two homesteads for the Witt families in northeastern New Mexico. One was for a William A. Witt and the other was for his mother Frances J. Witt. Their homesteads were east of the Mofax Cemetery and their mailing address was Gladstone, Union County, New Mexico.

William and his family are found in the 1920 census for Mills, Mora County but by the 1930's they had moved to Dallam County Texas.

A Family Research File listed a daughter Bonnie Lee Witt born April 17, 1922 and died July 5, 1922. Perhaps this little girl is the one buried in Mofax Cemetery.

All information about this Witt family can be proved by BLM records, census records, WWI registration records. However proof that Bonnie Lee Witt was William's daughter is circumstantial and further proof is needed.
