Agnes Attaway, a resident of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, passed away on November 10, 2009 Emerald Coast Center. She was 68. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2009 in Newton City Cemetery with Rev. Kenneth Martin officiating and Robert Byrd directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Attaway was born October 28, 1941 in Dale County and she resided the early years of her life in Ozark. Mrs. Attaway resided in Sebring, FL for nineteen years prior to moving to Daytona Beach. She has lived in the Panama City and Fort Walton Beach area for the past ten years. Survivors include her parents, William and Etoula West, Dothan; a sister, Jessica Gordy and her husband, Joe, Dothan; her aunts, Nancy Woodham, Dothan, Elaine Roberts, Dothan; an uncle, Paul Roberts and his wife, Jackie, Warner Robbins, GA; three daughters, Matha George, Dothan, Mechelle Baryla, Dothan and Melissa Brown, Lakeland, FL; several grandchildren and cousins. Robert Byrd of Sunset Funeral Home (334) 983-6604, is in charge of arrangements.
