Albert Bland

Albert Bland, 87, of Carrollton died Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, 1990, at Reisch Memorial Nursing Home in Carrollton.

He was born Sept. 28, 1902, in Calhoun County, the son of the late James and Catherine Ringhausen Bland. He married Marguerite Nevius on Aug. 23, 1924, in Hardin. She died on March 18, 1985.

Surviving are two daughters, Delores Wildhagen of Woodson and Beulah Fay Chapman of Kane; one son, Roy Bland of Carrollton; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; one sister, Edna Gansz of Kampsville; and five brothers, George Bland and Lester Bland, both of Kampsville, Howard Taft Bland of Pekin and Walter Bland and Ernest Bland, both of Eldred.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, Alberta Oden, a sister, Henrietta Gansz, and two half brothers, Austin Bland and William Ringhausen.

Mr. Bland was a member of the Greene County Farm Bureau. He had been a member of Modern Woodmen for over 50 years.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Airsman-Hires Funeral Home in Carrollton with burial at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Eldred. Friends may call 4-8 p.m. Thursday. Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
