Born March 6, 1908, in Kampsville to James and Katherine Ringhausen Bland, he married Anna E. Gansz on Nov. 22, 1928, in Kampsville. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. William (Eva B.) Waldmeier of Pekin; one son, Roland of Bethalto; four brothers, George and Lester, both of Kampsville, and Walter and Earnest, both of Eldred; three grandsons; and two great-grandsons. One son, two brothers, two sisters and two half brothers preceded him in death.
He was a lock tender for U.S. Army Corps of Engineers at Peoria Lock & Dam for 28 years.
Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
