William Clayton "Bill" Peavy, 83, died Friday, November 14, 2008, in Tallahassee, Fla. The service will be at 12:00 Noon EST, Monday, November 17, 2008, at Good Hope United Methodist Church in Hosford, Fla., with burial at Good Hope United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to noon, Monday at the church. Bevis Funeral Home of Bristol (850-643-3636) is handling arrangements. He was born in Concord and had lived in Tallahassee for the past 50 years. He worked as the service manager for Pyrofax Gas Company for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed farming and hunting. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Myrtice Whitehead Peavy; one son, William Harold Peavy of Los Angeles, Calif.; one brother, Leon Peavy of Tallahassee; and two sisters, Betty Jo DeBary of Quincy and Jeanette Peavy of Havana. He was preceded in death his parents, Robert Peavy of Havana and Clara Febo of Tallahassee; one sister, Doris Ruth Spears of Crawfordville; and five brothers, Jack D. Peavy, J.E. Peavy, and Tom Peavy, all of Tallahassee; Otis Peavy of Madison and Elton Peavy of Havana.
