Leon Franklin Peavy, 91, of Tallahassee, peacefully passed away in the early morning hours of Friday, November 15, 2019.

One of ten children, he was born in Concord, Florida on to the late Robert H. Peavy and the late Clara Franklin Febo. After faithfully serving his country in the United States Army, he worked and retired after 35 years from Talquin Electric Company as a truck driver and lineman. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. His passion was his vegetable garden.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Geradine Fulghum Peavy, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Betty Jo DeBary, Doris Ruth Spears, Jack D. Peavy, J.E. Peavy, Tom Peavy, Otis Peavy, Elton Peavy and William Clayton Peavy.

He is survived by his children, Robert Ward Peavy (spouse, Henry Mattason), Margaret “Meg” Peavy, Victoria Elizabeth Reed, and Charles O’Hair; grandchildren, Christopher Reed and Heather Appleton; great-grandchildren, Logan Reed, Charlie Reed and Kyla Appleton; sister, Jeanette Peavy; sister-in-law, Myrtice Peavy; nephew, Harold Peavy; nieces, Nellie Ruth Tully, Marilyn Moore and Kim Peavy. Also surviving are his caregivers, that he considered his own family, Robin Henderson, Dawn Henderson, Laura Smith, Melissa Norris and Liz Hebb.

Visitation is from 6:00 until 8:00 PM, Monday, November 18, 2019, at Abbey Funeral Home. A private family graveside will be held at Tallahassee Memory Gardens.
